True On-Line UPS Systems in a Standalone Cabinet from XP Energy Systems

XP Energy Systems Ltd has announced a key addition to its range of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems designed for use in a variety of applications where constant, reliable power is an essential requirement.

The XC Series comprises standalone, complete, true on-line UPS systems based on its successful Xi Series modules and housed in cabinets designed to provide between 1.5 and 6kVA. XC Series UPS systems incorporate many standard and optional features, including single or dual mains input, all designed to make them easy to install and easy to use.

The new UPS systems will accept 115, 208 or 230VAC inputs and provide the same nominal outputs.

Because the Xi Series modules used are extremely compact, XP Energy Systems has been able to design its XC Series in just three cabinet sizes – 1200, 1700 and 2100mm high and all by 600mm wide and 800mm deep. All three cabinet sizes are available with various levels of protection to IP54.

The cabinet’s top section houses both the cooling fans and, when fitted, an optional maintenance bypass switch. The standard Xi UPS control module is used along with Xi battery modules. The number of batteries used depends on the battery capacity needed for each application and the degree of autonomy needed on utility failure.

XP Energy Systems is using a proprietary universal battery design across the XC range. As standard, the UPS systems come with hot-swappable five-year life batteries, while a ten-year life battery is an option.

The unit’s digital display provides information on a number of parameters including input voltage, output voltage and frequency, battery voltage and load.

As standard, the XC Series is supplied with Xprotect software and covers all Windows® based platforms. Xprotect offers all of the functionality of standard shutdown packages with some additional features for remote monitoring and control.

Monitoring is achieved locally via RS232 or remotely via a connected network. Accessories include slot-in, volt-free alarm contacts, USB interface and SNMP network adaptors.

The unit is supplied with everything needed for immediate use.
