Electrical lubricant cuts pitting and hotspots

A highly conductive electrical lubricant that uses a silicone-based oil and specially formulated silver-coated aluminium flake is in stock at Digi-Key.

The 8463A from MG Chemicals is a highly cost-effective alternative to silver-filled grease yet has superior electrical and thermal properties compared to carbon-based greases.

This electrically conductive paste fills voids between adjoining parts, ensuring a continuous electrical path that enables current flow.

The 8463A can be used when a conductive lubricant that provides superior electrical contact and environmental protection is needed.

This contact grease is excellent for ground connections, rotating connections, rotary switches, variable capacitors, roller inductors, roller bearings, slip rings, slide connectors, and potentiometers.

Features include resistivity of <0.2 Ω·cm and thermal conductivity of 1.0 W/(m·K).

The lubricant improves electrical connections between irregular and pitted services. And it prevents arching, pitting, hotspots and welds.

Corrosion is inhibited and mechanical wear reduced.

The lubricant is compatible with metal, plastic, fibre, rubber and more.

Temperature range is -70°C to +200°C (-94°F to +392°F).
