New Panel Mount PC gives industrial designs an alternative to PLCs
Datasound Laboratories has added the NEMA4/IP65 rated AHM-6812, powered by Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor, to it’s growing range of panel HMI solutions and provides industrial system designers with a serious alternative to conventional PLCs.
With up to 512MB DRAM, the 5.7”(640x480) AHM-6812 has a 220cd/m2 LCD display and is supported by an analogue resistive touchscreen enclosed by a NEMA 4/IP65 front panel.
User interconnections comprise LAN, four USB 2.0 Ports, one RS232 PS/2 port and line in/out AC97 audio, all of which are rear mounted alongside the 11-28 VDC power connector. An internal PCI-E expansion bus for application specific I/O and CompactFlash and 2.5 HDD bays provides more than adequate potential for using either a desktop O/S, i.e. XP Pro, truly embedded O/S such as XP Embedded or CE5, or any other x86 operating system.
Weighing just 1.4kg in a black moulded plastic housing, the FCC, CE Class A certified AHM-6812 provides ratings of 15G shock, 1G vibration and 92CM drop making it ideal for use in harsh industrial environments.
With overall dimensions of 204x149x143mm and an operating temperature range of 0°C to 50°C, this fanless panel PC can be VESA mounted.
