Molex Incorporated and TMG Technologie und Engineering GmbH have announced a strategic cooperation focusing on industrial communication technologies and service activities for protocol stack integration. Together Molex and TMG will promote and provide customer dedicated solutions based on industrial communication technologies, such as Ethernet/IP and PROFINET, to device and system manufacturers as well as machine builders.
Molex and TMG have more than 20 years expertise respectively in the development of industrial communication protocols and, based on these experiences, Molex has already developed a range of software development kits and protocol stacks. In addition, both companies are actively involved in international standardisation working groups, such as those being led by PROFIBUS Nutzerorganisation (PNO) and ODVA, and envisage that the cooperation will directly increase their abilities to provide best-in-class solutions to worldwide customers.
Molex’s industrial product division manufactures and supplies a range of connectivity, power and communication products designed for a variety of protocols. This includes both PROFINET and Ethernet/IP stacks, master and slave, as well as corresponding engineering tools. Thierry Bieber, business development manager, Molex integrated products division said: “Cooperation with TMG will enable us to better serve our customers, and directly aid our continuing development of industry-leading industrial communication technologies, products and software.”
TMG, located in Karlsruhe, Germany, is one of the leading service providers in industrial communication technologies, focused on PROFINET, PROFIBUS, IO-Link and EtherNet/IP. Klaus Peter Willems, CEO at TMG, commented on the recently announced cooperation saying: “We are delighted to partner with Molex, and believe that through our combined experience of industrial communication technologies we will be perfectly positioned to provide industrial customers with the communication solutions they require.”
