With sensors providing the essential steps of analysing and communicating high-level data to cloud-based applications, a collaboration between Molex and Contrinex aims to further strengthen Molex’s Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solution offerings and positions the company as an end-to-end solution provider for industrial automation.

  A small, powerful and colourful climate sensor has been introduced by Molex subsidiary Sensorcon, which can provide workers in sensitive or harsh environments a clear understanding of environmental conditions.

At this year’s Engineering Design Show, taking place 18th to 19th October, Molex (stand K18) will showcase its multi-dimensional approach in meeting the most demanding needs of the design industry. The company will have on display a diverse representation of its products that support a wide-range of applications in a variety of connector sizes and shapes. These products provide design engineers with the ultimate in flexible, scalable solutions that deliver speed and reliability for next-gen system architectures.

Supporting the Open19 initiative, Molex has announced it will be backing platform which aims to establish a new open standard for data centre servers. Open19 defines a common form factor, the power distribution and network connectivity to servers, storage and other data centre hardware that can fit within a 2RU or smaller chassis.

  Based on IO-Link technology, the open standard protocol for industrial communication, which allows fieldbus and manufacturer independent connection of smart sensors and actuators to the network, Molex has introduced its Brad HarshIO modules.

Designed for factory automation and industrial lighting applications, the Brad Micro-Push M12 connectors have been introduced by Molex. Featuring an innovative push-on mating interface, the connectors reduce installation time up to 80% compared to screw-style connectors and facilitate simple blind-mate connections in tight locations.

Molex Incorporated has introduced the Flexi-Mate Connector System for LED lighting applications. Designed to address the lighting needs of luminaire manufacturers, particularly luminaires intended for the office environment, the Molex Flexi-Mate Connector System provides a full range of both board-to-board and wire-to-board connectivity.

Molex Incorporated announces the Stac64-e connector for automotive applications has received third party Environmental Claims Validation (ECV). The UL Environment ECV certification confirms that the Stac64-e connector contains 71 percent bio-based content in accordance with ASTM D6866-11. Constructed of resin derived from renewable plant-based castor oil, the Stac64-e harness connector provides an alternative to traditional petroleum-based connectors while offering equivalent performance and quality characteristics.

Molex Incorporated launches the Impact 100-Ohm orthogonal direct connector system designed for a direct connection of printed circuit boards using the same daughtercard. Featuring options of 3-through 6-pair, the Impact orthogonal direct technology supports high-speed 25 Gbps data rates and substantially eliminates airflow, cross-talk, and capacitance constraints in high-speed channels that can be introduced through current backplane / midplane laminates.

Molex Incorporated has successfully demonstrated the industry’s first single chip CMOS photonics-based 100 Gbps optical interconnect to support next-generation cloud computing, data centre and high performance computing connectivity. In a collaborative partnership with Luxtera, the new Molex silicon photonics-based active optical devices comprise four 28 Gbps transmit and receive channels powered from a single laser for an aggregate data rate of more than 100 Gbps. Molex CMOS photonics-based connectivity solutions are an outcome of ongoing development and collaboration structured during the Molex acquisition of Luxtera’s Active Optical Cable product line.

Molex Incorporated and TMG Technologie und Engineering GmbH have announced a strategic cooperation focusing on industrial communication technologies and service activities for protocol stack integration. Molex Incorporated recently announced the availability of Mizu-P25 Miniature Waterproof Connectors. The space-saving 2.50mm (.098”) pitch Mizu-P25 connector is the first and only sealed wire-to-wire system of its size in the market certified to the IP67 standard to help ensure the highest levels of protection. Mizu-P25 connectors are available in a low-voltage version rated up to 125 volts and a high-voltage version rated up to 250 volts.

Molex Incorporated has developed the first single port PoE+ Power Source Equipment (PSE), single port magnetic jack in accordance to the IEEE802.3at standard. Based on the RJ45 jack and backwards compatible with the previous PoE IEEE802.3af standard, the PoE+ PSE single port magnetic jack, series 85759, is a complete, plug-and-play module that provides engineers with a simplified design process and easy migration path from using standard power supplies to fully integrated PoE+ capability.
