Molex Receives Third Party Environmental Claim Validation for Industry’s First Bioplastic Resin-Based Connector
Molex Incorporated announces the Stac64-e connector for automotive applications has received third party Environmental Claims Validation (ECV). The UL Environment ECV certification confirms that the Stac64-e connector contains 71 percent bio-based content in accordance with ASTM D6866-11. Constructed of resin derived from renewable plant-based castor oil, the Stac64-e harness connector provides an alternative to traditional petroleum-based connectors while offering equivalent performance and quality characteristics.

Molex Demonstrates World’s First 100 Gbps Integrated Optical Transceiver Products

Molex Incorporated has successfully demonstrated the industry’s first single chip CMOS photonics-based 100 Gbps optical interconnect to support next-generation cloud computing, data centre and high performance computing connectivity. In a collaborative partnership with Luxtera, the new Molex silicon photonics-based active optical devices comprise four 28 Gbps transmit and receive channels powered from a single laser for an aggregate data rate of more than 100 Gbps. Molex CMOS photonics-based connectivity solutions are an outcome of ongoing development and collaboration structured during the Molex acquisition of Luxtera’s Active Optical Cable product line.

Molex Incorporated recently announced the availability of Mizu-P25 Miniature Waterproof Connectors. The space-saving 2.50mm (.098”) pitch Mizu-P25 connector is the first and only sealed wire-to-wire system of its size in the market certified to the IP67 standard to help ensure the highest levels of protection. Mizu-P25 connectors are available in a low-voltage version rated up to 125 volts and a high-voltage version rated up to 250 volts.

Molex Incorporated has developed the first single port PoE+ Power Source Equipment (PSE), single port magnetic jack in accordance to the IEEE802.3at standard. Based on the RJ45 jack and backwards compatible with the previous PoE IEEE802.3af standard, the PoE+ PSE single port magnetic jack, series 85759, is a complete, plug-and-play module that provides engineers with a simplified design process and easy migration path from using standard power supplies to fully integrated PoE+ capability.
