Latest weighing technology meets hazardous requirements
HBM has launched its AED9101C-Z2/22 for use in potentially explosive atmospheres
The AED’s transducer electronics processes signals from in situ strain gage full bridge transducers and makes them digitally available over different interfaces such as Profibus, Devicenet or RS232/422/485 serial interfaces.

This latest version of the successful AED digital transducer series has been completely modified and now has ATEX95 Ex II 3GD X approval. This makes the transducers suitable for ATEX Zone 2 (gas), or ATEX Zone 22 (dust).

Users benefit because they are now able to install the digital transducer within the hazardous area without needing to take any additional explosion protection precautions.

The latest AED digital transducer electronics is suitable for a wide range of applications where weighing technology is needed in potentially explosive atmospheres. Examples include the chemical and petrochemical industries, or packaging systems in mills, where dust can accumulate.
