It has been announced that HBM will be exhibiting its sophisticated and innovative range of weighing technology components at stand C34 of the PPMA Show 2018, taking place at the NEC in Birmingham, from 25th to 27th September.

The MX460B-R digital measurement module from HBM is suitable for measuring torque, rotational speed, angle, position, or displacement in harsh environments. It is a 4-channel, digital impulse and frequency measurement module which is suitable for precise acquisition of digital signals in a range of mobile applications such as vehicle testing and test benches.

HBM has expanded its range of strain gauges, of the KFU series, which can be used at extremely high temperatures up to 350°C. The KFU strain gauges are shipped with a 1m long cables and are protected against high temperatures. They are available in grid lengths of 2 and 5mm as well as in different versions, such as linear, T (with two measuring grids) or R (with three measuring grids) rosettes, depending on the applications requirements.

HBM Test and Measurement has introduced its new T21WN torque transducer. Based on strain-gauge technology, the T21WN uses contactless energy and measurement signal transmission to measure torque. The torque transducer enables demanding static and dynamic measurements of torque, rotational speed, and angle of rotation to be performed on non-rotating as well as rotating components.

The CP52 Communication Processor (CP) has been exclusively designed by HBM for use with the MGCplus Data Acquisition System. Successor to the CP22 and CP42, the updated CP52 which features built in intelligence, comes with a variety of flexible functions which offers users added value, such as two native interfaces. 

As requirements for torque measurement increase in terms of speed and precision, the T40HS torque transducer is the latest offering from HBM to provide a precise solution for high rotational speeds up to 45,000 rpm.

HBM UK Ltd has appointed Greg Todd as Sales Manager for companies in the south of the country. Greg is a fully qualified electro-technical engineer and brings five years of experience in electrical testing combined with similar experience in mechanical engineering sales with him to the role.

HBM technical experts, Rainer Schicker and Dr Georg Wegener, have written a 272-page reference book, “Measuring Torque Correctly” available on-line that gives a clear overview of all essential aspects of using torque transducers. Available in German, English and Italian, the book is clearly laid out and easy to understand

HBM has launched the T40FM torque flange that can measure torques of up to 80 kNm to meet the increased requirements for torque measurement in test benches over recent years.

Two variants of HBM’s successful CFW piezoelectric force washers have been launched to expand the range by providing nominal (rated) forces of 100 kN and 190 kN.

HBM has made a number of improvements to its established TB2 torque reference transducer family of products to ensure they continue to meet the needs for very high precision results delivered quickly.

HBM has launched its C18 reference force transducers with a nominal force range of up to 5 MN. Reference transducers are used to calibrate force measurement transducers by comparing results against a defined standard.

HBM has extended the flexibility of its U10 force transducers with the U10S version which has UNF standard threads for mechanical connection.

Leading UK manufacturer, All-Fill International Ltd has selected HBM’s PW12C 75 kg capacity load cell and AD103C Analogue to Digital Convertor (A/D) card for its latest sack filling machine. This ensures the accuracy of the machine meets the specification of up to ±0.1% of the fill weight. The machine is designed for filling 25kg sacks but All-Fill International decided it needed a bigger load cell to meet different customer specifications.

HBM's new catalog Strain Gages and Accessories is now available in both English and German versions. The catalog features all of HBM’s extensive range of strain gages and their specifications on nearly 100 pages.

HBM’s high-speed instrumentation development team, based at Dongen in The Netherlands, has won a prestigious CE Design Award for work on its forthcoming ISOBE7600 high-voltage measurement subsystem. The award was presented by DARE!!, a Dutch company specialised in product certification for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electrical product safety.

HBM has launched two digiCLIP modules - 1-DF30DN and 1-DF31DN – with a DeviceNet interface to extend the range of suitable applications for its universal industrial amplifier.

HBM has resolved the challenges of compensating optical strain gage measurements for temperature fluctuations with its latest K-OTC sensor.
