Both modules have an input range of 15.5VDC to 36VDC and offer a user programmable hold up trip voltage. There are two modes of operation: 'standby' and 'tripped', during stand by, the module charges the hold up capacitors to 45V and maintains that voltage. When tripped, the module stops charging the hold up capacitors and connects them to the Vout pins. The mode of operation is determined by the value of the input voltage in relation to the preset trip voltage. The response time for both modules is 5μs.
The switching frequency of the HU-28 and HUL-28 is 310Khz, reflected ripple is 40mA peak to peak. Both units can provide up to 200 Watts of hold up output power, the isolation between the baseplate and input is 700VDC. The operating temperature range is -40 to 100ºC, and the MTBF per MIL-STD-217F is in excess of 350000 hours. The HU-28 is housed in a standard half brick package measuring 2.28” x 1.45” x 0.5” whereas the HUL-28 is housed in a standard quarter brick package measuring 2.28” x 1.45” x 0.5
