Components with elevated glow-wire ratings
When it comes to household appliances used in unattended operation, the provisions of standard IEC 60335-1 have in the past few years placed higher requirements regarding glow-wire ignition temperature. These more stringent requirements thus also apply to installed components such as power sockets, fuse holders and connectors.
For this reason, all components carrying current must meet the requirements of glow-wire tests as specified in IEC 60695-2-11 to -13.
