AED digital transducer electronics for analog SG transducers
HBM has developed its AED transducer electronics to digitize analog signals from transducers using strain gage technology (SG) enabling them to be integrated into a super ordinate system. This simplifies the process of integrating analog standard load cells into a digital environment.
Using the AED with a PC makes it quick and easy to activate a wide range of transducer electronics equipped with different fieldbus interfaces, such as CANOpen, DeviceNet and Profibus DP V1, as well as serial RS232 and RS485 interfaces.

Efficient digital filters, sampling rate adjustment, characteristic curves, linearization and more than 100 structured commands can be parameterized in this way. The different fieldbus interfaces ensure that there is never any problem integrating into a wide variety of super ordinate applications. All the inputs and outputs of the transducer electronics are electrically isolated.

The compact AED transducer electronics have IP65 degree of protection enabling use under harsh ambient conditions. This means the equipment can be fitted next to the strain gage transducer.

AED transducer electronics are suitable both for static and dynamic applications, for example, in batching and weighing technology. Standard weighing technology solutions can easily be upgraded to legal-for-trade systems with the use of encryption technology in conjunction with the DWS2103 scale display. No investment in digital load cells is required to achieve this. HBM’s DWS2103 also enables connection to Ethernet-based systems.
