The work is being carried out in three phases. To date, the engineers have surveyed several hundred generators with a similar number to be inspected during the final phase. The engineers are carrying out a detailed visual inspection of the installation. In compliance with the latest health and environmental standards, this includes but is not limited to, the cooling exhaust system, fuel storage system, fuel pipework, fuel transfer system and control panel and the canopy. The engineers also run the set to check correct starting and stopping procedures.
Some of the surveys have identified potential problems with the generators and control systems, which would have resulted in the standby power systems failing to start in the event of a mains power failure and thereby being unable to protect the critical load. All faults detected have now been repaired.
The service division of shentongroup, Merlin, provides a range of products in the standby power and Air Conditioning sectors including Installation, Maintenance, Project Management, Consultancy, routine repair and scheduled service of Generators, UPS, CHP and Air Conditioning systems.
