Compact 640kVa generator targets data centre market

The product will be launched at the Datacenter Dynamics Converged in London’s ERxcel Centre (Nov 19-20).

Historically, 1 MW generators have only been available in a 20 foot container and typically weigh in excess of 17,500kg.

The Power Cube is housed in a ten foot certified shipping container and weighs in at less than 8,000kg. This makes it 50 per cent smaller in body length and 35 per cent smaller in cubic metres compared to other generators on the market.

As a modular product, the generator can also be coupled to 32 generators making a combined 16 MW power plant. The Power Cube is powered by a fuel optimised MTU V-12 dual frequency engine complete with Deep Sea DSE8610 controller with visible oil level detection, oil make up tank, synchronising capability, coolant heater, charger and heavy duty batteries.
