New snap-in mounted combined switch and circuit breaker from ETA

E-T-A Circuit Breakers has introduced a new rocker-actuated single/double pole combined circuit breaker and ON/OFF switch with optional water splash protection. Attractively styled for front panel mounting, the cost-effective E-T-A Type 1120 Thermal Circuit Breaker offers superior quality and reliability for single phase applications. Typical applications include household appliances, office equipment, garden and hobby tools, electric motors, power supplies, battery chargers, cable extension reels and multiple socket outlets.

The new, compact E-T-A 1120 features a thermal trip-free mechanism offering reliable overcurrent protection and safe physical isolation of the load. The rocker actuator can either be specified as a latching switch for ON/OFF operation, when the position of the actuator indicates the status of the switching contacts, or it can be specified as a momentary switch.

The Type 1120 is available in a range of current ratings, from 3A up to 16A, for 240V AC or 32V DC (50V DC for double pole). It meets the requirements of the CBE standard EN 60934: S-type, category TO, and the fire resistance requirements of EN 60335-1:2007-02 ‘Safety of household and similar electrical appliances’.

Water splash protection is optional to raise the standard protection from IP40 to IP66; an illuminated rocker is also optional. For large volume orders, customised designs can be offered for the front bezel and rocker.
