New bi-stable power relay for large current switching applications

E-T-A Circuit Breakers has introduced a new bi-stable power relay designed for single-pole switching of loads in vehicle and watercraft applications. Suitable for use as a battery disconnect relay or for switching other high current circuits, the new E-T-A PR80 features a robust design, offers side or foot mounting styles and has a high level of protection against water and dust ingression.

The rugged, bi-stable E-T-A PR80 Power Relay is available in ratings of 100A, 200A and 300A for 12V, 24V or 48V DC circuits. In release condition, its power consumption is zero, making it particularly suitable for battery-powered systems. The body of the power relay protects against water and dust ingress to IP67. Optional suppressor diodes eliminate the risk of damage to control circuitry by back-emf voltage peaks. An insulating barrier between the main terminals also protects against shorting when the cables are originally connected.

The bi-stable E-T-A PR80 complements the mono-stable E-T-A PR60 which has similar ratings and mounting capabilities. The wide variety of combinations of the different configurations and different mounting methods makes the E-T-A PR80 suitable for a wide range of applications, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, heavy duty (military) vehicles, agricultural machinery, watercraft, motor homes and vehicles used in the construction industry.
