New B-Box from Spelsberg offers quick, waterproof installation

The latest product offering is designed to allow electrical installers and OEMs to make quick and discrete waterproof connections without the need for specialised tooling to drill holes or cleanly remove knock-outs.

With the B-Box we wanted to offer customers a small, secure housing with easy access and quick installation. From this objective all of the product design features were developed.

“It takes between three and five minutes to make every cable entry when using separate cable glands, plus it’s difficult to do when stood at the top of ladders or on a gantry, plus you often have to carry both tools and components miles around a site if you are an installer. OE manufacturers and system integrators also need to reduce the time taken for wiring and installing machines whenever possible.

“The New B-Box takes literally seconds to install and offers all the security and protection of a top quality electrical enclosure and proper cable glands, without the tools, hassle and time required by more traditional solutions. This fits with our company philosophy of “Space for you”.”

The enclosure is supplied with eight cable entries (two on each side) which all feature M20 threaded entries. Inserts, which protect the enclosure from water and dust ingress at each entry point, are easily knocked out and the attached cable gland forms an IP65 seal without the need for a rubber seal or any additional tooling. Most standard M20 cable glands will fit the enclosure, though Spelsberg can supply cable glands or screw in conduit connectors where specified.

The dimensions of the compact box are 95x95x57mm; this allows for discrete location in many applications while a standard 5 pole terminal block can still easily be housed within. The ‘snap-on’ lid will fit the square enclosure at any angle, further simplifying the process.

The B-Box has two long hole openings at the base that allow it to be easily mounted to walls, ceilings, mounting plates etc. Isolation plugs are supplied to close the openings and retain the enclosures ingress protection.
