It is easy to overlook the importance of choosing a good quality cable gland, it is often forgotten that a poor gland will compromise the integrity of the whole application. To ensure that Spelsberg’s enclosures are as secure as possible they will now be supplied with the option of Bimed cable glands. Durable materials are used to ensure all the glands produced are high tech and high quality. The glands are available in either tough plastic polyamide form or brass nickel plated. Both constructions are highly durable in harsh environments. Each provides IP68 ingress protection with a range of opening sizes between 13mm and 59mm.

Variations include spiral topped strain relief glands, and the ‘Conus’ pressure screw type cable glands (as the top is screwed down the sealing ring is clamped against the cable which creates a strong and water tight grip). Brass nickel plated glands are also available in a number of styles including the DS glands, featuring a double silicone seal, which provides temperature resistance up to +300°C.

These glands follow Spelsberg’s tradition of providing high ingress protection for all cable entries and add high cable retention.
