andersDX launches the World’s first nettop computer featuring the NVIDIA® Tegra™ 2 processor

New ‘Trim Slice’ enclosed industrial PC is tiny in size , ultra-low in power but high on performance making it ideal for multiple applications - Following the recently announced joint venture with CompuLab, andersDX, market leader in User Interface technologies and enablers, including embedded computing , has announced ‘Trim Slice’ – the first Industrial grade NVIDIA® TegraTM 2-based nettop computer, and the company’s smallest and most energy efficient boxed computer yet.

Following on from the success of the FitPC range, ‘Trim Slice’ is ideal for graphic-rich applications such as thin clients, security, IPTV, infotainment systems, digital signage, gaming and industrial controls. Embracing the Open Source community, Trim Slice is offered with Linux, (Android available soon) and developers are encouraged to port other Linux flavours or other OS’s to further enhance the multiple application usage of this rich hardware platform.

This robust, powerful nettop PC offers exceptional performance with ultra low energy consumption of only 3W and is packaged in a miniature, rugged, yet attractive die-cast metal case measuring only 130mm x 94mm x 15mm (5.1″ x 3.7″ x 0.6″). With impressive dual display graphic capabilities comprising 1 x full HDMI (1.3a, 1080p) and 1 x DVI-D, the system is ideal for a host of applications with high-end GUI requirements and streaming or playback video.

Trim Slice is, supplied with 1GB of DDR2 memory and a SATA solid state disk with support for up to 64GB of storage. With one full-sized SDHC and one micro SDHC card slots for expansion, the computer has over 100GB of total optional storage. Integrated features include 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, support for HDMI 1.3 and DVI video and 5.1 channel S/PDIF audio. Four USB 2.0 ports and a serial port are also provided.

The Trim Slice PC is available now, whilst andersDX is also looking to expand its network of SW & HW partners, to enable development of a range of vertical market ‘plug and play’ solutions.
