The advanced multi-grip gland eliminates the need for ‘old style’ rubber reducing rings and internal strain relief systems. The result is increased internal wiring space, easier and faster wiring, and fewer single points of failure for significantly increased reliability. With multi-grip, 5-pin 32A plugs and sockets can be wired up to 52% quicker than with old style cable glands, while 5-pin 63A plus and sockets can be wired up to 42% quicker.
The special threaded fitting is secured with a saw tooth thread, which prevents self-induced and unintentional loosening while plugging and unplugging the connector. The working surface of the threaded fitting is ample for all commercially available spanners.
In operation, 18 flexible fins adapt themselves to the thinnest or thickest cable diameters when the threaded fitting is tightened. This lamella effect guarantees optimal strain relief while at the same time protecting the cable. The tensile strength exceeds the values required in EN 60309.
When firmly fastened, a permanent rubber seal enables the connection to be simplified by guaranteeing IP67 sealing protection. The multi-grip gland also provides a drainage opening that ensures no water can remain in the flared opening. Water is removed through drainage holes, and is absolutely prevented from entering the inner connection space, even when the cable is removed.
CEE Norm screw terminal plugs and sockets are manufactured from high quality materials to ensure high impact strength, resistance to sudden changes in temperature, resistance to wear, and resistance to most chemicals. All pines, sleeves, screws and terminals are either nickel plated or manufactured from rust-proof materials to ensure corrosion resistance.
