Teledyne DALSA’s new series of ‘Icon’ user programmable cameras combines Teledyne DALSA’s expertise in sensors, cameras and image processing with off-the-shelf development tools and libraries. This creates an embedded vision system platform that offers developers extensive control of the hardware and image data.

STEMMER IMAGING’s first UK Open Day proved to be a resounding success, with around 120 guests spending a very enjoyable day at its UK head quarters. A stimulating seminar programme provided 40 presentations delivered across 8 sessions throughout the day, with a choice of 5 tracks in each session. This was backed by a vision components and solutions exhibition featuring 20 of the world’s leading manufacturers.

The LMI Gocator family of 3D smart cameras available from STEMMER IMAGING has been upgraded with a host of new measurement capabilities, scripting and enhanced PLC interoperation for use across a wide range of manufacturing industries. These new facilities are also available for existing Gocator users through a free firmware download (V3.3). New measurement tools include Gap and Flush measurement, Groove measurement and extended Whole Part measurement. A new megapixel resolution version is also available.

STEMMER IMAGING can now offer a new automatic surface inspection system, based on the patented Trevista image processing system from OBE GmbH & Co KG. Structured diffuse illumination is combined with specialised calculation algorithms within the popular Sherlock machine vision platform from Teledyne DALSA to create a fast automated total inspection solution capable of identifying defects in a range of surfaces from shiny components to diffusely scattering surfaces.

CoaXPress Products Come To STEMMER IMAGING

STEMMER IMAGING has introduced a selection of cameras and framegrabbers that make use of the new CoaXPress data transmission standard. CoaXPress can send high speed video, communication, control and power over long distances using a single standard coaxial cable. With data rates of up to 6.25 Gbps per cable for video, images and data are achievable over distances up to 40m and data transmission over distances greater than 100m are possible at 3.125 Gbps.

STEMMER IMAGING has announced a massive increase in turnover for the financial year ending 30th June 2011. Total turnover for the four STEMMER IMAGING companies, headquartered in Germany, exceeded 55 million Euros - a rise of more than 50% on the previous year. In the UK, turnover showed an impressive rise of nearly 40% compared to 2010.

Ultra Fast GigE Frame Grabbers With On Board FPGA Processing
A new family of FPGA-based GigE frame grabbers is now available from STEMMER IMAGING. The Silicon Software microEnable IV AQ4-GE and VQ4-GE can accommodate up to 4 GigE cameras simultaneously. The on-board FPGA provides real-time image processing significantly reducing the load on the host CPU. Both frame grabbers are also available in PoE (Power Over Ethernet) versions. The microEnable IV AQ4-GE is a simple to use acquisition board that, through standard AcquisitionApplets®, provides simple FPGA processing functions. This allows processes such as flat field corrections and high quality colour reconstructions from raw Bayer data to be carried out at high speed without any complex set-up.

By combining 1D barcode, 2D matrix and character reading and verification with pattern recognition capabilities in a single unit, BOA IDR provides part traceability and error proofing.
