You can now register for free two day event with STEMMER IMAGING
Registration is now officially open for the second day of STEMMER IMAGING’s UK Vision Technology Forum at the Silverstone Wing Exhibition and Conference Centre, taking place 15-16th November 2017. Visitors can choose between the completely free standalone technology day on November 16th, which follows a similar format to the previous Forums, or a two-day package that also includes an in-depth one day training course, gala dinner with entertainment and overnight accommodation.

Partnership with AL-KO AG secures STEMMER IMAGING's future

The Munich-based AL-KO AG, parent company of the internationally active AL-KO KOBER SE, has acquired 75.04% of the shares in STEMMER IMAGING from the company's founder Wilhelm Stemmer. The successful management team acquired a share of 24.96% in the company as part of the transaction.

4th-gen surface inspection designed with patented 2.5D process
Especially suited to the examination of components with shiny and diffusely-scattering surfaces, the Trevista X4 models utilise a patented 2.5D process, called Shape from Shading. Surface defects such as scratches, burrs, dents, discolouration or grinding marks, even if only a few micrometres deep can be detected with significantly greater certainty with this process than with conventional image processing systems.

Used for part and product traceability, reading product codes to avoid labelling mix-ups, and validating product type, lot and expiration date codes, the Boa Spot ID is supplied with integrated lighting and choices of sensor resolution, lenses and software tools. It can also be used to check that markings and label positions are correct and the presence or absence of features as well as checking assembly history at every stage of manufacturing.

CMOS sensors added to Genie Nano industrial camera range
Six new models featuring 2 and 5 megapixel resolution ON Semiconductor Python CMOS sensors have been added to the Genie Nano range of GigE Vision industrial cameras from Teledyne DALSA. Using burst acquisition and patent pending TurboDrive technology, these cameras can operate at much higher frame rates with faster data transmission than normally possible using GigE Vision. This means they can be used in faster applications.

Industrial cameras improve track monitoring efficiency for London Underground
STEMMER IMAGING has worked closely with London Underground to develop and deliver 104 industrial camera assemblies that are mounted directly onto passenger trains to provide image data on the condition of the wheel/rail interface and the track itself. By acquiring this data during normal timetable periods, more time is available during the 4-hour night closure period to maintain the network’s 1000 km of track, minimising any disruption to services and helping to make the new weekend extended operating times possible.

New near infrared/colour multispectral line scan cameras
Two new series of line scan cameras added to the STEMMER IMAGING camera range provide enhanced multispectral imaging capabilities for industrial imaging applications. The Sweep+ from JAI and the Quadlinear Piranha4 from Teledyne DALSA both allow simultaneous capture of colour and near infrared (NIR) images. A rich choice of imaging technologies, resolution and sensor types means that the most appropriate camera can be chosen for the application.
