USB3 Vision industrial cameras and cables

STEMMER IMAGING can offer a versatile range of USB3 Vision cameras from JAI together with special cables optimised for USB3 use. A choice of CCD or CMOS sensors, a variety of resolutions and extensive functionality provide the flexibility for end users, OEMs and systems integrators to take advantage of the high speed USB3 Vision interface and select the most appropriate camera for the application.

The monochrome and colour Elite EL-2800-USB industrial cameras are designed for applications that demand high image quality, without the size and expense of additional cooling techniques. These 2.8 Megapixel cameras utilise the advanced Sony ICX674 2/3” progressive scan CCD sensor featuring EXview HAD CCD II technology to provide high levels of sensitivity, uniformity, and NIR response, while minimizing shutter leakage and readout noise. The cameras can run as high as 54.6 frames/s at full 1920 x 1440 pixel resolution. The large pixel well capacities provide the best possible signal-to-noise ratios and dynamic range, even when light levels are limited. Multi-tap sensors (primarily quad-tap) are used to maintain higher frame rates while avoiding noise and thermal issues.

The SP-20000-USB colour and monochrome cameras feature the 20 Megapixel CMOSIS CMV20000 imager which provides full frame resolution of 5120 x 3840 pixels at up to 16 frames per second. This combination of speed and resolution makes them ideal for examining flat panel displays, printed circuit boards, and many other applications where detailed inspections are required across a wide area. In addition, the Spark SP-20000 cameras are well-suited to persistent surveillance, border security, aerial mapping, and other outdoor applications, thanks to such features as automatic level control (ALC) linking shutter and gain for best exposures under changing light conditions; and an optional high dynamic range mode. Outstanding image quality is guaranteed by the exceptional light sensitivity, reduced pattern noise and the use of correlated double sampling.

A unique, high performance 2560 x 2048 pixel CMOS imager available exclusively from JAI is used in both the Spark SP-5000-USB and GO-5000-USB cameras. This provides 5-megapixel images at up to 62 frames per second for 8-bit monochrome or raw Bayer configurations. The Spark SP-5000-USB features a mixture of on-chip and in-camera capabilities enabling it to deliver image quality well beyond what is typical for high-speed CMOS cameras. It is ideally suited for high-speed production line inspection, as well as process monitoring and event capture. The GO-5000-USB provides a remarkable combination of high resolution, fast frame rate, small size, and low weight, all at a very affordable entry-level price. The camera offers a smaller form factor (29 mm x 29 mm x 41.5 mm, excluding lens mount) than the Spark model and weighs only 46 grams – one of the lightest cameras available at this resolution. The camera's combination of 5 micron square pixels and versatile ROI capabilities, enables it to be easily configured to meet a wide range of customer requirements for resolution, speed, and optical formats.

STEMMER IMAGING can also offer connecting cables fully compliant with the USB 3.0 standard. These double-ended cables are available in lengths up to 5 metres. Extended length, robot-compliant and screw-locking versions are also available.
