Smart cameras come to the world of infrared imaging with the new Xenics Gobi-384 compact LWIR camera from STEMMER IMAGING. The affordable Gobi-384 features a unique on-board digital signal processor for improved real-time image processing. The Gobi offers a high degree of flexibility in terms of frame rate, user interface and temperature range, enabling the user to adapt it to various industrial settings and tasks.

STEMMER IMAGING, KUKA Switzerland and the Interstaatliche Hochschule für Technik (Interstate College for Technology NTB) in Buchs, Switzerland, have developed a robotics software package, V4R (Vision for Robotics), using STEMMER IMAGING’s Common Vision Blox (CVB) imaging toolkit. Image processing provides mechanical robots with a new mode of perception by giving them added vision. The V4R software runs directly on the controller of the KUKA robot, so a separate image processing PC is not required, and users with robotics experience can code the vision application in the language with which they are familiar.

The new Xcelera-CL LX1 Base, a low cost, entry-level Camera Link frame grabber, is now available from STEMMER IMAGING. It is easy to set up and use, delivers highly reliable image acquisition and offers extensive software support. The latest addition to DALSA’s X64 Xcelera Series, this compact new frame grabber is a quarter-length PCI Express x1 Board and so is ideal for applications where space on the bus is limited.

STEMMER IMAGING will be announcing several new cameras at Photonex09, highlighting the enormous diversity available in its camera portfolio. Camera launches include a new smart camera and a simple high resolution colour camera with an integral SD storage card. Also on show for the first time will be infrared cameras from the Xenics range and DALSA’s Falcon 4M60 colour camera.

The new EVI-HD7V and EVI-HD3V High Definition cameras from Sony are the latest additions to STEMMER IMAGING’s camera range for professional AV, broadcast and videoconferencing. Reflecting the trend in technology migration to higher resolution, the EVI-HD7V offers the highest HD resolution (1080/60p) available and both cameras offer a host of standard features such as 10x optical zoom, autofocus, 70 degree field of view and fast, versatile pan/tilt movement.

The DALSA Genie HM1400 and HM1400XDR GigE cameras, now available from STEMMER IMAGING, feature unique CMOS sensors with no dead pixels, ensuring the highest image quality compared to conventional CMOS sensors. These sensors, manufactured by DALSA themselves, are not available in any other cameras and offer an excellent combination of resolution, frame rate and price.

The Xenics XLIN 1.7 SWIR/NIR linescan camera from STEMMER IMAGING is designed for use in a host of industrial applications. These include on-line process control, web inspection, food inspection, agricultural monitoring, non-destructive inspection, pollution and environmental monitoring, moisture measurement and semiconductor process monitoring. In addition it can be used for the thermal imaging of hot objects between 200˚C and 800˚C.

The F503 is the latest addition to the AVT GUPPY range of ultra compact, space-saving IEEE 1394 (Firewire) cameras for industrial and scientific OEMs, system Integrators and resellers. The new cameras are now available from STEMMER IMAGING in both colour and black & white versions with a highly-sensitive 2592 x 1944 (5 Megapixel) Micron/Aptina QWXGA 1/2.5 rolling shutter CMOS sensor.

STEMMER IMAGING has signed an agreement with infrared camera manufacturer, Xenics NV, for the exclusive distribution in the UK of cameras for industrial and system integration applications. This comprehensive range of cameras is not restricted to imaging just in the thermal imaging region of the infrared spectrum (long wavelength infrared), but also in the short, medium and very long regions of the infrared spectrum.

DALSA has increased the functionality of the popular iNspect and Sherlock products. These software packages, available from STEMMER IMAGING, enable imaging systems to be used cost-effectively in many fields and by users with any level of knowledge.

STEMMER IMAGING has added the Phoenix HD-/SDI family of high-speed digital frame grabbers from Active Silicon to its product portfolio. The Phoenix HD-/SDI can be used in medical engineering or broadcasting situations, to present, record, archive or post-process high-resolution images or video sequences on a PC.
