Distributed exclusively by STEMMER IMAGING, the Prosilica GX-Series from Allied Vision Technologies use Link Aggregation technology to double the data transmission rate offered by GigE Vision to 240 MB/sec. Link Aggregation, or IEEE 802.3ad, is a networking technology that uses multiple Ethernet ports in parallel to increase the link speed beyond the limits of a single port. This makes the GX-Series the fastest GigE Vision compliant cameras in the world.

STEMMER IMAGING can now offer the aggressively priced VB-2 HD camera. Based on the highly successful Sony FCB-H11 10x zoom module, the camera provides component HD to 1080i.

The new HSLink interface from DALSA has been designed in co-operation with the Camera Link 2 subcommittee to meet the needs of all machine vision applications and carries image data, configuration data and low jitter, real time triggering signals over a simple network topology supporting cameras, intermediate devices and frame grabbers. It combines the key strengths of Camera Link® with new features and functions. HSLink is designed from a system point of view, ensuring the ability to create low cost cameras and frame grabbers, while meeting the ease of use, flexibility and data reliability demanded by end customers. HSLink delivers scalable bandwidth in 300 megabyte/second steps, from 300 to 6000 megabytes/second, while using globally available, off-the-shelf components.

The VTR2 series of high power strobe lights from Gardasoft can be used for automatic number plate recognition and other traffic applications. These include classification of vehicles based on their type (car, lorry, motorcycle, etc.) or vehicle brand using software from STEMMER IMAGING

The 4th edition of STEMMER IMAGING’s extremely popular Imaging & Machine Vision handbook is now available. Packed with over 50% more pages than Issue 3, and including improved technical overviews and easier to use selection guides, the latest edition is being printed in German for the first time as well as English. It is available free of charge in the UK, France, Germany and Switzerland.

STEMMER IMAGING can now offer DALSA’s new Falcon VGA300 HG, 1M120 HG, and 1.4M100 HG cameras. These high-speed cameras feature high quality DALSA global shutter CMOS image sensors for applications where imaging of fast-moving objects without smear or distortion is required. This includes electronics manufacturing, semiconductor inspection, and industrial metrology (gauging).

Toshiba has added a new remote head camera to its highly successful series of CMOS-Full-HD devices. The small and lightweight remote head (IK-HR1H) measures just 30 x 30 x 36mm and weighs only 50g without the lens, giving great flexibility for broadcast applications.

The new DALSA Piranha ES family of linescan cameras with Time Delay & Integration brings an incredible combination of speed, resolution and sensitivity to low-light applications. The ES series bridges the sensitivity gap between single line cameras and the highest sensitivity Piranha HS series. With up to 32 TDI stages and up to 8k resolution, the Piranha ES cameras open new possibilties for high-performance cost sensitive inspection.

The opening of a new logistics centre at its Puchheim, Germany headquarters during 2009 allowed STEMMER IMAGING to greatly expand its facilities and provide customers with an even better level of service.

The new RT Series of lighting controllers from Gardasoft use ‘SafePower’ - a new technology that adjusts the output voltage to the lighting system separately from the input voltage.

The new IDS uEye XS camera available from STEMMER IMAGING measures just 22 x 24 x 24 mm, yet it offers an 8 Megapixel sensor complete with an auto focus lens and a USB 2.0 interface. Despite its small size, the uEye XS is packed with features, including electronic image stabilization, automatic image control, backlight compensation and a complete SDK featuring face detection and tracking.

The Allied Vision Technologies (AVT) range of Prosilica GigE cameras will be exclusively distributed by STEMMER IMAGING. This follows AVT’s rebranding of the Prosilica range with the establishment of ‘Prosilica’ as a camera series name.

The new uEye RE cameras from IDS combine the flexibility of the Gigabit Ethernet interface with the ability to reliably perform in dusty and wet environments. This new range of cameras is suitable for use in both outdoor and indoor vision applications, featuring a compact ruggedised IP65/67 industrial housing, as well as having excellent EMI tolerance capable of withstanding 4KV.

STEMMER IMAGING’s latest camera offering, the JAI AD-081CL, features two monochrome progressive scan CCD sensors mounted to a custom-designed optical prism. The prism-based design enables the camera to simultaneously capture two channels of 30 fps video of the same field of view to within one-quarter pixel accuracy. A choice of operating modes allows the camera to be used for high dynamic range, high speed operation or particle imaging velocimetry.

STEMMER IMAGING UK has just completed its 2008/9 financial year, and is delighted to report that it has hit its sales targets, representing 10% growth compared to 2007/8.

STEMMER IMAGING are now offering the VisionRGB-E1 single channel high resolution image capture card, from a new supplier, Datapath Ltd. This PCI express x4 card provides image capture from analogue RGB or digital DVI video signals and works at a pixel digitisation rate of up to 170MHz (analogue) or 165MHz (DVI).

STEMMER IMAGING will be holding three seminars at venues in the UK during November entitled “Vision For the 21st Century”. Part of STEMMER’s ‘Futures’ series, these seminars address issues such as: the next ‘big thing’ in imaging; extended wavelength imaging and the benefits it offers, plus fast, smart imaging opportunities.

STEMMER IMAGING can now offer the new BOA smart vision system from DALSA, launched on October 1st 2009 for End Users, Vision Integrators and OEMs. BOA has been introduced to complement Dalsa’s existing ‘Vision Appliance’ (VA) range. Packaged complete with proven inbuilt software, BOA eliminates the need for programming and installing software due to configuration via a standard web browser interface.

STEMMER IMAGING´s programming library for imaging applications, Common Vision Blox (CVB), is the world´s first software package to have successfully passed the GigE Vision validation test set by the Automated Imaging Association (AIA).
