STEMMER IMAGING, Europe’s largest imaging technology provider, is proud to announce the release of Common Vision Blox 2011 for Windows 64-Bit. This new software library for imaging professionals supports the 64-Bit version of Microsoft Windows 7 and includes the Automated Imaging Association (AIA) certified CVB GenICam driver, compatible with the latest GenICam version.

The popular range of IDS uEye cameras, available from STEMMER IMAGING, now has enhanced functionality thanks to a new version of Linux drivers. In addition, all USB 2.0 camera models have been shown to be compatible with the USB 3.0 interface. The new Linux driver version 3.70 offers the same level of functionality as the established Windows™ drivers and allows developers to create applications that will work under both operating systems without any additional design effort. Compatibility of USB 2.0 models with USB 3.0 is good news for users wishing to upgrade their computer systems and make use of the enhanced data transfer speed offered by USB 3.0.

STEMMER IMAGING announces the availability of the new ZM18-DM multi-purpose line laser from Z-Laser. Capable of producing structured lighting for 3D measurement, surface inspection, and alignment applications, the ZM18-DM is available in red, blue and IR wavelength versions with output powers up to 200mW.

GigE Vision and GeniCam standards committee member, STEMMER IMAGING, is delighted to be able to announce the versatile performance of the new Sony FCB E Series of colour block cameras with GigE Vision and GeniCam functionality. The new CVC GE family includes a camera equipped with an FGI GigE Vision-compliant interface board produced by STEMMER IMAGING and the CVB CameraSuite software development kit. The CVC-1020P GE will be demonstrated for the first time at the Vision Show in Stuttgart, Germany, 9-11 November, 2010 and will be available for shipment early in 2011.

STEMMER IMAGING announces that Allied Vision Technologies (AVT) has complemented its Pike series of FireWire cameras by adding 11 and 16 megapixel models that provide excellent image quality. These new additions, the Pike F-1100 and F-1600, are especially well suited to demanding applications where image quality, sharpness, precision and detail are essential, such as the sciences or in medical technology.

Stemmer Imaging can offer a compact new low cost, high definition board camera for use in a wide range of markets. Measuring 42 x 42 x 34 mm and weighing just 40 g, this high performance camera can be readily mounted in awkward positions or on moving objects.

A new Power over Ethernet (PoE) GigE Vision frame grabber from STEMMER IMAGING is set to boost the use of PoE cameras in machine vision applications. Since few PCs have direct PoE interfaces, this new frame grabber provides a simple and cost-effective way of utilising the space-reducing and cost-saving benefits of PoE cameras.

The new TEC-V7X lens from Computar offers dual functionality. Designed for use with high resolution cameras up to 5 megapixels with 1/1.1 inch image sensors, this versatile lens operates both as a 7X macro zoom lens with 0.07X to 0.5X magnification and as a telecentric lens within the 0.25X to 0.5X magnification range. It provides excellent brightness throughout the zoom range, maintaining 70% illumination at both centre and corners.

By introducing the new Guppy PRO range from AVT, STEMMER IMAGING can offer a superb series of Firewire cameras with exceptional performance in a small package. With up to 5 Mpixel resolution and a fast IEEE 1394b interface to provide up to twice as much bandwidth for image data transmission, these small but powerful cameras are packed with functionality at a highly competitive price.

STEMMER IMAGING´s Common Vision Blox CameraSuite brings the flexibility of the GigE Vision standard to 64-bit operating systems.

STEMMER IMAGING can offer the world’s fastest GigE vision camera with 2 Mpixel HD (1080p) resolution to allow images to be transmitted at high speed and in true broadcast format. With data transmission at an unprecedented 240 MB/s through the dual GigE Vision (Link Aggregation Group technology) interface, the Prosilica GX1910 camera from AVT ensures that there is no trade off between resolution and speed.

A new family of high sensitivity CMOS cameras from IDS featuring a 1.3 MPixel sensor with a global shutter is available from STEMMER IMAGING. One of the few global shutter CMOS cameras on the market, it is not only suited to imaging fast moving objects, but offers a sensitivity 2-3 x that of conventional CMOS sensors. The new e2v sensor brings performance comparable to CCD cameras but at CMOS prices, giving outstanding price/performance.

The new GEVA (GigE Vision Appliance) is the latest in DALSA’s versatile platform of machine vision solutions, available from STEMMER IMAGING. These include multi-camera embedded systems and smart cameras, all operating under common imaging software. GEVA is a powerful embedded system designed for applications requiring powerful processing, high-resolution or multiple cameras. GEVA benefits from a smaller size for easier system integration and from a powerful dual core processor, equipped with high-speed memory resources to tackle the most demanding imaging applications.

The new JAI AD-081GE dual CCD camera provides independent shutter/gain control for each CCD, enabling the camera to capture details in scenes with a wide variation of light intensities, giving enhanced dynamic range and extremely versatile imaging. This new camera is fully GigE Vision /GeniCam compliant and features built in image fusion capabilities for merging the outputs from the two sensors.

STEMMER IMAGING’s new CVS Image Station Compact EOS-1000 is an embedded computer system for industrial imaging applications that combines high performance computing capability with four individual Gigabit Ethernet camera ports in a compact, robust housing. This system is ideal for any industrial automation application such as 3D vision robotic guidance and medical imaging.

The new Xenics Bobcat-1.7-320 is a compact, cost-effective uncooled NIR camera with a unique embedded digital signal processor for intelligent, real-time image processing. The camera has a host of inspection and quality control applications using both subsurface NIR inspection and thermal imaging capabilities. NIR imaging has applications in the semiconductor industry, waste sorting and food inspection as well as on-line quality control, while thermal imaging provides quality control for thermal processes and thermography between 300?0¸8C and 800?0¸8C.

New 3D measurement tools from STEMMER IMAGING enhance the accuracy of three dimensional measurements in industrial vision applications. CVB Metric 3D and CVB Merge 3D have been introduced to allow accurate calibration of 3D images and to overcome potential problems in laser triangulation image acquisition resulting from shadows in the laser line. These new tools have been added to the 3D suite of tools in the latest version (10.2) of the Common Vision Blox (CVB) programming library, which fully supports all 32 Bit versions of Microsoft Windows 7.

Contact Image Sensors (CIS) offer an interesting alternative approach to conventional linescan cameras for industrial web applications such as the inspection of paper, textiles, glass or plastics. The technology offers significant advantages in terms of space requirements, ease of alignment, and resolution. With line rates up to 100 kHz, scanning widths up to 4 metres, very high resolutions and integral light sources, the CIS can be a very cost-effective choice in certain applications.

A colour version is the latest milestone in the evolution of DALSA’s BOA smart cameras for End Users, Vision Integrators and OEMs. Colour imaging is important in a host of applications and industries from food, meat, print and pharmaceutical inspection to PCB assembly, part presence and/or detection and quality and grading applications.
