The new Genie Nano GigE Vision industrial camera from Teledyne DALSA is packed with features that enhance performance while reducing complexity and cost. The impressive array of data acquisition modes combines unparalleled imaging possibilities with data transmission at rates exceeding the GigE limit. An increased operating temperature range together with proven camera reliability are provided in a slim-line, lightweight package for integration into tight spaces.

  STEMMER IMAGING’s Trevista surface inspection system can be used to identify foreign matter or surface imperfections on medical devices such as stents, catheters and hypotubes. Early detection of these flaws during the manufacturing process can save both time and money.

LMI Technologies has introduced the firmware 4.2 update for the entire range of Gocator displacement, profile, and snapshot 3D smart sensors, in order to further enhance the ease, efficiency and productivity of the 3D inspection process. New features include part matching, a profile mode, emulator and a suite of 2D measurement tools.

A new video from STEMMER IMAGING shows how the LMI Gocator 2 Series 3D smart camera can be set up to carry out profiling of rubber seals to show if they are properly seated. The demonstration shows 3D profiling of rubber seals in polybutylene pipe of the type used extensively in plumbing applications.

The new, high resolution Serval LWIR uncooled thermal imaging GigE camera from Xenics is designed for industrial in-line process and quality control in harsh and hot industrial environments. It features an IP67 design so that no large additional third-party enclosure is needed.  

The Mitsubishi Electric KD range of contact image sensors has been further extended with the addition of high-speed monochrome versions. The monochrome versions operate at scan speeds of 1.8 m/s at 600 dpi, twice the speed of the colour models. Monochrome and colour models with no integral lighting have also been introduced for applications that require back lighting rather than incident lighting.

With new camera locations added to the Bloodhound vehicle, video transmission successfully tested at speeds up to 650 mph and the camera selection for rocket monitoring finalised, STEMMER IMAGING's contribution to the Bloodhound-SSC project is right on track.

Sony recently announced its intention to close its 200 mm CCD wafer line in Kagoshima and to stop the manufacture of the majority of Sony's industrial CCD sensors. STEMMER IMAGING can now offer the Vieworks VN-25MX M/C, the world’s first CMOS pixel shifting machine vision camera equipped with the high speed CoaXPress interface. The 25 Mpixel (5120 x 5120) resolution high speed progressive scan CMOS sensor runs at 72 fps, but the camera can also achieve high frame rates of 18 fps in pixel shift mode at a resolution of 100 Mpixels. 

STEMMER IMAGING has signed an agreement with Optotune AG for the distribution of Optotune’s range of polymer lenses for industrial vision applications. Now available from all STEMMER IMAGING companies through Europe, these innovative lenses consist of an elastic lens material, whose shape can be adjusted in order to focus. 

STEMMER IMAGING has become a sponsor of the exciting ‘Bloodhound SSC’ project which will be attempting to set a new world land speed record in 2015. Bloodhound SSC is a British project to build a jet and rocket powered car designed to travel at 1,000 mph. STEMMER IMAGING’s sponsorship involves the supply and integration of up to 11 cameras at strategic points on the car.

A new USB3 industrial camera featuring the latest e2v 2 Mpixel CMOS sensor is ideally suited for industrial 3D imaging applications in process automation or vehicle body inspection, as well as in medical technology, robotics and logistics. Versatile operation allows frame rates from 62 frames per second at full resolution up to 150 fps at VGA to be achieved.

STEMMER IMAGING has added the new colour versions of the Falcon2 camera from Teledyne DALSA to its range of industrial vision cameras. Available in 4 MPixel, 8 MPixel and 12 MPixel versions, these mechanically rugged and thermally stable cameras incorporate Teledyne DALSA’s latest in-house CMOS sensor technology to give outstanding image quality and colour accuracy.

Smart vision systems and compact vision systems, for applications such as product and packaging inspection; code and label reading and verification, and 3D measurement of product volume to optimise packing and reduce packaging waste, will be shown by STEMMER IMAGING at Pro2Pac.

Integration of infrared imaging into machine vision applications is now much easier with the introduction by Xenics of a common GigE/CameraLink/CoaXPress modular platform for its range of infrared cameras. This can be used for applications such as such as inspection, identifying and measuring parts, pick-and-place and assembly, high-speed sorting, failure analysis and hot-spot detection.

New machine vision training seminars in the UK will provide machine vision education for end-users and vision integrators alike. A programme of product-specific training, independent machine vision theory training and best practice training will take place in the UK during 2013. These seminars are organised by the European Imaging Academy, an educational initiative from STEMMER IMAGING.

The benefits of the high speed USB 3.0 interface are perfectly utilised in the new UI-3360CP and UI-3370CP cameras from IDS GmbH, now available from STEMMER IMAGING. Featuring 2 Megapixel (CMV2000) and 4 Megapixel (CMV4000) CMOSIS sensors, the new UI-3360CP and UI-3370CP run at high frame rates of 180 fps and 90 fps.

High line rates up to 140 kHz, a choice of resolutions, and pixel sizes of 10 µm or 14 µm to maximise sensitivity, bring remarkable versatility to the Piranha 4 dual linescan cameras. High performance CMOS sensors also offer high dynamic range, making Teledyne DALSA’s Piranha4 family, available from STEMMER IMAGING, ideally suited for demanding applications. These include flat panel inspection, printed circuit board inspection, solar cell inspection and narrow and wide web inspection.

Vision specialists from STEMMER IMAGING have worked closely with experts from Marel to integrate a vision-based grading option into Marel’s IBS 2000 bacon slicers. Marel is a pioneer in the application of advanced computer and vision technology to look at and measure a cross section of product such as bacon prior to it being sliced.

STEMMER IMAGING has boosted its portfolio of products for use in the food industry with the addition of a wide range of camera and lighting housings. Available in food grade materials, housings compatible with FDA regulated washdown applications are also available.
