The versatile field-proven XL7 series of online process viscometers from Hydramotion now feature the option of an integral temperature sensor, facilitating the simultaneous monitoring of fluid temperature and calculation of temperature-corrected viscosity without the need for a separate thermowell.

Hydramotion Ltd has launched a new generation of its field-proven XL7 on-line process viscometer. The latest model stores all instrument-specific data on the transducer, giving complete flexibility of installation. The accompanying VP550 readout unit has a clear, easy-to-read display showing measured viscosity and viscosity corrected to a user-defined reference temperature.

A compact on-line viscometer specially designed for polymer melts has been developed by Hydramotion Ltd. The ViscoMelt 5000 Extruder Viscometer is a drop-in device that can be installed directly on the extruder die head with no need to divert any part of the melt flow. This die-mounted instrument complements the company’s XL7-900 range of contoured-probe viscometers available for installation on polymer melt pipelines upstream of the extruder.

A new signal processor/readout unit is now available from Hydramotion for its range of viscometers. The VP550 complements the proven performance of Hydramotion viscosity measurement transducers, providing reliable real-time measurement of any fluid in any process. It can be used with any of the company's on-line instruments, including the XL7 process viscometer, the ReactaVisc reaction vessel/pilot-scale viscometer, the ViscoJet compact viscometer and the goVisc laboratory viscometer.

Hydramotion Ltd has launched an intelligent sensing system for continuous on-line viscosity measurement in process control environments requiring high resolution and accuracy with excellent repeatability. Ready for use straight out of the box, the innovative Viscojet VJ1 is a high-performance stand-alone device that can be connected directly to a PLC or DCS for real-time viscosity monitoring and control. All instrument-specific data is stored on the sensor, giving complete flexibility of installation as well as facilitating adjustment and performance monitoring.

A powerful new tool in lab-scale viscosity measurement is the goVisc 500 from viscosity measurement specialists Hydramotion Ltd. The goVisc 500 is a compact, high-performance precision viscometer ideal for general laboratory work where high precision and excellent repeatability are required. As a standalone device with real-time analogue or digital outputs, the goVisc is also especially suitable for automated applications in which viscosity measurement must be continuously available such as high-throughput analytical or quality control systems.

The ReactaVisc 300 from Hydramotion is an unlimited-range, research-grade device for the continuous measurement of dynamic viscosity in reaction vessels of any capacity. The compact, narrow-bodied enclosure takes up minimal space at the top of the vessel, leaving plenty of room for ancillary equipment, e.g. for stirring, reagent addition or temperature measurement.

The Viscolite® VL700-T15 portable viscometer from Hydramotion Ltd is specially designed for on-the-spot viscosity measurement in small sample volumes, down to just 10 ml (0.34 oz). Like the larger VL700-S model, the T15 is a reliable, field-rugged instrument ready for use straight out of the box.
