With viscosity so dependent on temperature, the facility for measuring both at the same point offers a significant accuracy advantage, especially where measurement conditions may be changing unpredictably from minute to minute.
The XL7 provides continuous real-time viscosity measurement at temperatures up to 450°C (842°F) with high resolution, excellent repeatability and virtually unlimited measurement range. The sensor can be mounted on tanks, pipes or reactors at any location and in any orientation using any process fitting, with no need for ancillary pipework, spares or accessories.
Measurement is unaffected by plant noise, flow rate or the presence of suspended solids.
Factory-calibrated to certified viscosity standards traceable to NIST, the XL7 comes with IEC worldwide certification for Hazardous Areas, giving complete flexibility of installation.
The accompanying VP550 readout unit has a clear, easy-to-read display, three user-selectable 4-20mA analog outputs, a serial data link and an optional USB output.
Ready for use straight out of the box, the high-performance XL7 is the viscometer of choice for any process. As there are no moving parts and no need for on-site recalibration, routine maintenance is minimal, making the system particularly ideal for environments where removal or replacement would be costly, inconvenient or impractical.
