Semiflex from SCHMIDT-KUPPLUNG is a torsionally-stiff, precise shaft coupling for transmitting torque from one shaft to another, in those cases where shaft alignment can not be guaranteed due to manufacturing tolerances, assembly procedures, wear or operational specifics. All types of shaft misalignment are accommodated via the Semiflex design. The radial shaft misalignment is compensated via pivoting parallel movement. No restoring forces are induced. The angular velocity of the connected shafts remains totally synchronized, regardless of the shaft misalignment. No restoring forces are induced. The Semiflex requires very little axial space. Misalignment capacity is not a function of coupling length.
For application where machine parts cannot be moved axially SCHMIDT-KUPPLUNG offers the series Semiflex Standard in coupling diameters ranging from 70 mm to 120 mm with split clamp-hubs. The couplings are designed to be installed without moving other machine parts. The split clamp-hubs ensure an easy drop-out installation with zero backlash.
Typical applications are for example profiling machines, packaging machines, in logistics and materials handling systems and in automatic assembly machines.
Application-orientated couplings: Radial mounting for higher torque requirements
For applications with higher torque requirements such as roll forming machines or machines in the thermoplastic technology, the torsionally-stiff couplings in split clamp-hub version were requested as well. Special coupling sizes in an increased range of outer diameters up to 160 mm and 180 mm and higher torque capacity are realized to meet the special demands.
