Modern baking machines feature couplings of the Loewe GK series.
Rack ovens with rotating racks and turntables provide for uniform baking quality. The racks move in a user-friendly manner into the oven without touching the floor and are then placed in the rotating mechanism by a lifting device.
For this application the coupling manufacture designed a special version of the Loewe GK in steel. The coupling is designed to offer generous angular and radial misalignment compensation and at the same time resists axial motion. Due to this axial stiffness the coupling ensures the transmission of push and pull loads. The couplings combine the technical features of a single universal joint (angular misalignment capacity, axially fixed) and a coupling (radial misalignment capacity). As a result the coupling builds very short.
The crossed pins slide easily in the bearings, which allow a pivotal and radial displacement of the two hubs with lowest side and bearing loads.
The axially stiff coupling designed especially for the modern baking machine has a special spigot shaft design, allowing it to perform the function of turning and lifting the inserted racks. Here, very high standards are required of the axial stiffness and of the parallel and angular compensation
