BPM Microsystems L.P., a leading supplier of device programming systems, today announced its support for the PowerXR family of high-performance programmable power controllers from Exar Corporation . Exar’s PowerXR ICs, combined with BPM Microsystems’ unrivaled universal device programmers, significantly reduce development time, cost and are easily reconfigured for real-time design changes.
“Digital power devices, like the Exar PowerXR family, are gaining design wins as system designers are able to realize reduced board areas, reduced BOM costs, and finer-grained control of their power rails,” said Srivatsan Mani, device support manager for BPM Microsystems. “As these products ramp to production volumes, using an off-line programming solution, which also caters to power semiconductor devices becomes critical. We are very excited to be a programmer supplier for Exar's XRP7704, XRP7714, and XRP7740 devices on our automated and manual programmers. In supporting these devices we are able to offer our customers value beyond the typical non-volatile memory, MCU, and logic device arenas.”
BPM Microsystems supports the XRP7704 and XRP7714, a 5Amp/channel regulator, and the XRP7740, a 16 Amp/channel version, on its full line of universal device programmers. These power ICs integrate the best of both worlds - the low cost and flexibility of digital power management and control, and the robust power capabilities of analog switching power supplies.
“PowerXR customers can quickly define and program their designs using BPM Microsystems development tools to deliver specifications to manufacturing for accelerated deployment,” said Tim Maloney, director of marketing, PowerXR. “Exar looks forward to a strong collaboration with BPM Microsystems to jointly solve customers’ design challenges.”
