The new TRIM® TEC™ range of chlorine-free neat oils from Master Chemical uses the highest quality synthetic and semi-synthetic hydrocracked base fluids together with carefully selected additives to improve cutting and grinding performance. Developed in Europe specifically for European manufacturers, the range is comprehensive and provides many advantages over standard mineral oil based products.

In the twenty years since Master Chemical Corporation established a foothold in the UK a lot has changed in the metalworking world. And naturally the UK arm of this specialist in production fluids has changed with it. Now the company that was initially set-up to supply and support the UK market not only serves the wider Europe and beyond but is also the research and development centre for the entire region.

The combined need to improve grinding performance and cost efficiency prompted Russian manufacturing giant, MMPP Salut, to investigate alternative metalworking fluids. After trialling a number of candidates, a product developed by Master Chemical Europe and supplied by their Russian distributor network proved to be the ideal replacement.

The new TRIM VHP® E820 from Master Chemical Europe is the definitive minimal-foam cutting and grinding fluid concentrate. Even at pressures greater than 150 bar and when diluted with soft water, it doesn’t foam. This is important for several reasons.

For many years Master Chemical Europe has supplied carbide tooling manufacturers with its TRIM® C120CG water-based metalworking fluid. Now, with the introduction of a new neat grinding oil for carbide, the company is able to provide a comprehensive grinding product package for this sector. The new TRIM® OG108 is formulated to meet the requirements of all carbide and HSS tool grinding operations.

Having devoted much of his 28 years in the business to the subject, the depth of his knowledge is considerable. Gary’s entire career to date has been with oil company, D. A. Stuart, but he has now joined Master Chemical Europe as R&D chemist – Europe.

Master Chemical’s TRIM C270 is a high performance synthetic cutting and grinding fluid that is the preferred choice of many manufacturers worldwide. When Master Chemical Europe introduced its TRIM® Task™ maintenance cleaner it provided industry with a highly efficient product based on the tough requirements of the production engineering sector. When diluted with water in different ratios it could be used to tackle an exceptionally wide range of grime busting jobs.

A low sump life of just eight months wasn’t the only problem that Sauer Danfoss was experiencing with its existing metalworking fluid. The bad odour from the mineral emulsion was also causing health and safety problems. Machine cleanliness was an additional concern and foaming was compromising the metalworking processes.
