Low cost and mobile fine filtration
With sky-rocketing energy prices increasing manufacturing costs, every small saving in basic ‘housekeeping’ is important. With its latest introduction Master Chemical Europe makes a valuable contribution by helping the manufacturer get the best return on cutting oil. Its new Clean Tower oil filtration system is designed to reduce oil consumption by improving its condition to maximise productivity and working life.
The simple yet highly effective Clean Tower complements existing filtration systems as its compact design allows it to be easily moved around the shop floor. Its cost also belies its capability. Clean Tower filters oil down to 3 micron, performance that is generally expected from more complex and expensive systems.
Pre-coat systems offering similar filtration quality are not only up to 50 times more expensive than Clean Tower they are also much bigger, cumbersome and consume more energy.

Field trials of Clean Tower have certainly proved its value to two manufacturers. In the production of carbide tooling one customer was facing compromised productivity and product quality as a result of particulate in grinding oil. Two Clean Towers were installed to supplement existing filtration systems on two separate grinding machines. They have proven to be extremely effective at keeping the grinding oil in great condition, negating the need for disposal. Product quality and finish has improved and most importantly costs have been reduced.

Another tooling manufacturer reported the erosion of machine slide ways and excessive wear of high pressure pumps due to extremely high levels of abrasive carbide in the grinding oil. There was a health issue too as the contaminated oil caused operators to complain of skin irritation. In this case a single Clean Tower was installed to purify the oil on two separate Walter grinders. Within hours machine cleanliness was significantly improved with oil changing from a dark grey/black to water white. Machine downtime through component wear was eliminated and so too, the health and safety issues.
