In several EU countries the use of boron and formaldehyde donor biocides as constituents in metalworking fluids are heavily restricted. Whilst TRIM C272 retains all the performance qualities of TRIM C270 it does so without the inclusion of boron and formaldehyde donor biocides. As a result it can be used anywhere throughout the EU or indeed the world, allowing global companies to standardise on the product without fear of infringing ‘local’ environmental legislation.
This new addition inherits all the characteristics of TRIM C270. It provides excellent cooling, chip settling, good tramp oil rejection and filterability and meets the needs of the modern machine shop. It is particularly suited to applications where high coolant volumes and velocities are prerequisites of achieving maximum productivity.
An Italian manufacturer of track for track guided vehicles has conducted field trials on TRIM C272 and reported excellent creep feed grinding performance at flow rates in excess of 500 litres per minute at 20 bar. The company also confirmed extremely low foam and mist, low carry off and very low total operation costs.
TRIM C272 is compatible with a very wide range of materials including cast iron, mild steels, corrosion resistant steels as well as plastics and composites. It utilises a proprietary chlorine and sulphur-free extreme pressure additive that effectively controls built-up edge and ensures good tool life and surface finish.
Another characteristic that TRIM C272 carries forward to the next generation is clean running machines and parts protection. It leaves a protective fluid coating that is resoluble in coolant working solution and minimises the build-up of sticky residues that can harbour abrasive chips. As a Master Chemical product it is ideal for recycling.
