Thin spring brake 70% thinner for OEM applications

The Think Spring Engaged Brake (TSEB) was designed by SEPAC to provide OEMs with a thin body high-performance/low-cost spring engaged power off brake. TSEB is 60–70% thinner and up to 20% less expensive than conventional servomotor type high-performance brakes.

The TSEB offers reversible mounting – with the shaft extending past the brake or within the brake body for the shortest, thinnest package.

A friction disc/rotor and hub are manufactured from lightweight metal, allowing for lower inertia. A splined hub for shaft connections typically provides less than 1.5° backlash.

The TSEB is ideal for a wide range of OEM applications, including: servo motors/systems, medical apparatus, robotics and imaging equipment, material handling, semiconductors (wafer handling equipment), energy-related (wind, petroleum, etc.) actuators, and security-related actuators for doors, gates and curtains.

Key features and benefits of the TSEB include:

  • Reversible mounting
  • Low backlash (less than 1.5°)
  • Low inertia
  • Cost effective: 10-20% lower than competitive products
  • RoHS compliant
  • UL Class F insulated coil system
