Letchworth-based R. A. Rodriguez (UK) Ltd., supplier of precision engineering components and automation, is now the proud winner of a highly respected industry award. Last month, the Universal Robot was judged to be the Best Automation System in the biennial Metalworking Production Awards.
The MWP Awards were devised to recognise and applaud outstanding achievement in the design, manufacture and supply of production equipment. The awards ceremony itself was held during the MACH exhibition at Birmingham’s NEC, an event long-established as the UK’s premier gathering for the advanced manufacturing sector.
R. A. Rodriguez (UK) Ltd is known for precision engineering components and automation systems. This award was for one of their automation products, for which the company is the UK distributor. The Universal Robot is a neat, six-axis device that provides highly cost-effective automation without the need for specialist robotic programming knowledge.
Commenting on the achievement Peter Williamson, Managing Director of R. A. Rodriguez said, “This award breaks new ground for us and I’m delighted that such a simple to use device has caught the judges’ imagination. It’s a really flexible product that represents exceptional good value for money, allowing the user to economically improve productivity.”
