TraceParts announced its media collaboration with the Techniker-Forum (Engineers Forum).

This will mean that more than 100 million 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for all current CAD systems will now be available to visitors from the Techniker-Forum for them to download for free. The CAD models are supplied from hundreds of catalogs from world-leading component manufacturers such as Binder, Bosch Rexroth, Euchner, Igus, Item, Phoenix Contact, Schaeffler Technologies (INA/FAG), RUD, and many more.

The Techniker-Forum itself is one of the largest communities for nationally certified engineers in German-speaking countries. Its widely visited forums play host to lively discussions on the subjects of nationally certified engineers, training, degree courses and advanced training. There is also a job market and list of engineering colleges added to the services on offer. This is now further supplemented by one of the world’s most powerful CAD libraries.

“The Techniker-Forum has more than 150,000 registered users and 480,000 posts, making it one of the largest Internet-based engineering communities in the world,” says Thomas Trautner from the Techniker-Forum. “So, we’re glad that we can offer this CAD service and, in doing so, make our service offering even more attractive. Having access to the library provides direct value added for our users as they don’t need to bother with redesigning purchased parts, and can focus directly on their design work,” continues Trautner.

“We’ve been really excited by the notion and, most of all, by the timely launch of a community just for engineers,” adds Stefan Kolb, Online Marketing Manager at TraceParts GmbH. “We’re pleased that our CAD library enables us to be part of this 150,000-strong community and to supply them with millions of CAD models and technical documents. The Techniker-Forum community will also certainly go from strength to strength in the future. This development will, of course, also have a positive impact on the online visibility of the component catalogs of our customers, and on the TraceParts Publishing Network, which currently has 8.5 million users worldwide,” continues Kolb.
