Kaydon® Expands Thin Section Bearing Manufacture

Several customer benefits will result from KAYDON® rationalising its bearings manufacture in the US. In conjunction with the substantial expansion of its Sumter factory to meet growing demand for thin section custom bearings the company will discontinue its operation at Mocksville.

The consolidation of all thin section manufacturing in Sumter will provide UK distributor, R. A. Rodriguez, with an enhanced service for all its customers needs. The facility will provide improved capability, adding flexibility in the manufacture of multiple bearing steels. Quality systems will also be enhanced. Certification to aerospace standard AS9100B was achieved earlier this year and NADCAP accreditation is currently being pursued.

For many years, KAYDON® bearings have been a key product line for engineering component supplier, R. A. Rodriguez. It represents the company’s interests in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia and supplies large and small bearings in both standard and custom configurations, including the world-renowned Reali-Slim® thin section bearings.
