Hydraulic Cylinders for Rugged, High Heat Applications

Milwaukee Cylinder announces its new Vulcan Series hydraulic cylinders. Designed to operate at higher temperatures than typical cylinder environments, the Vulcan Series is ideal for industrial workplaces with rugged operations, continuous cycles and hot environments.

The Vulcan Series hydraulic cylinders provide complete customization, allowing users to match the right level of temperature protection to the specific application. With the Vulcan Series offering, hydraulic cylinders can now operate in very high ambient temperature environments.

“We are always striving to better fulfill our customers’ needs and at Milwaukee Cylinder, we saw a big opportunity for high heat applications,” said Douglas Lacina, Global Marketing and Engineering Leader at Milwaukee Cylinder. “Industries such as foundries and die casting need a tool that can keep up with their rigorous operations on a day-to-day basis.”

The Vulcan Series offering is constructed with Milwaukee Cylinder’s NFPA industrial tie rod cylinder. The heavy-duty cylinder design can withstand high cycle times and provide a long, maintenance-free service life. The basic design can be modified to handle high temperature applications, based on specific application needs.

With the Vulcan Series offering, the seals can be changed to withstand higher temperatures and/or additional components can be added to the cylinder itself. Featuring Milwaukee Cylinder’s innovative water jacket designs, the Vulcan Series takes heat protection the next level. These water-cooled jackets can better moderate the internal temperature of the cylinder and reduce cylinder failure that would otherwise come from high temperature degradation of hydraulic fluid or heat-related seal failure.
