Christopher Announces Sale of 250th SPI System in North America
Christopher Associates announces the sale of its 250th solder paste inspection system in North America. Magna E-Car Systems, a recently formed joint venture between Magna International and the Stronach Trust, recently purchased a KY-8030-3.
Magna E-Car systems will use the system, its third Koh Young SPI machine, in its new hybrid- and electric-vehicle system development center and state-of-the-art battery/materials testing facility in Auburn Hills, MI.

“We are excited to be working with such a progressive company and are looking forward to a long and successful partnership,” said Martin Gershenson, Director of Business Development for Christopher Associates. “Magna International and its team of top-level engineers have been a pleasure to work with for several years, and we are sure that we will have the same experience with E-Car systems.”

Based on the successful KY-8030, the enhanced KY-8030-3 brings the same inline, fully automated SPI performance at a greater speed and value. The KY-8030-3 uses patented Koh Young shadow-free inspection technology and software to deliver 100 percent 3-D solder paste inspection.
