Georg Martin provides high-quality M-Tech spring strip parts for friction discs
Today, manufacturers of friction discs require very thin precision-drawn parts to apply their special coatings. Georg Martin GmbH provides these as precision-fitting pre-products which can be further processed directly. No matter whether it’s a prototype, a pilot series or a large series – on the basis of its flexible production, the Georg Martin can provide virtually any batch size quickly and punctually.
Friction discs play a decisive role in drive technology. In transmissions and clutches, as well as axle and steering systems, they produce the optimum torque transfer depending on the contact pressure, rpm and friction. For several months now, a renowned manufacturer has been placing his trust in stamped and lasered parts from Georg Martin GmbH for the production of friction discs. Usually only 0.1 mm thick, these sheet metal parts are made of high-quality spring steel strips which serve as the carrier material for a diamond granulate applied in a thermal process. The customer receives these thin sheets from Georg Martin as precisely fitting formed parts ready for further processing, which means that they can introduce them to the coating process without losing any time.

The 0.1 mm or 0.5 mm thick spring strip parts are part of Georg Martin’s M-Tech product line. The company deploys modern CNC stamping and laser-cutting equipment as well as conventional precision punching machines for their manufacture. In doing so, they are capable of producing virtually any batch size economically and delivering it at short notice, from only a few sample parts to large series of 250,000 units or more. Georg Martin achieves this flexibility through a combination of stamping and laser technology and the use of high-performance precision stamping machines. Within the M-Tech S product line, Georg Martin offers buyers and constructors a large selection of fine and thin sheet metals, from 10µ, made of steel, stainless steel, aluminium and copper alloys, as well as PET film and brass.
