User-friendly technology in electronic temperature controls

With the demand for more feature filled, low-cost electronic temperature control solutions, Selco has decided to re-introduce the standard and custom series of electronic temperature controllers. For applications where high precision temperature control is required and where time and/or temperature reading must be displayed, these electronic controls offer an advanced solution over standard electromechanical component thermostats.

The series includes three different categories: standard, enclosed and custom controllers.

The controllers are designed for a wide variety of refrigeration and heater control applications including commercial appliances, food service equipment, refrigeration storage, freeze protection, chillers and HVAC equipment. All of the electronic temperature controls incorporate microprocessor-based technology providing customers with accurate, repeatable and stable performance.

Control function performance characteristics include a differential of 2°F, single or dual channel temperature sensing, high accuracy thermistor temperature sensing of 2°F, and a set-point adjustment of 1°F resolution, which can be set by either a potentiometer or optional digital user panel.

For complete flexibility, power requirements are nominal 115VAC/60Hz with options for Selco’s wide input range SST power input from 75-305VAC. Output choices include single SPST/SPDT relay rating at 15 or 30Amp, 240VAC or multiple relays on specific models.

Users can select from a wide temperature control range. For cold controls, using NTC thermistors ranging from -40 to 230°F and hot temperature controls using thermocouples and RTDs, ranging from 60-1200°F.

Customers are looking more and more for a turn-key, technology driven temperature control solution, in order to increase their productivity and user friendly features. They are looking for more specialised controls that will give their product more attention in addition to features.

“The development of our electronic controls comes from our experience of 15+ years providing electronic controls and close collaboration with our customers in multiple markets. Our goal is to deliver a higher level of performance, accuracy and reliability at a competitive price,” said Eugenio Pedroza, Electronics Engineering Manager. “We also work with our customers from the ground-up to provide custom designs and meet all their specific requirements for their application.”
