A long-range read-write RFID device has been launched by SICK, which delivers compact, standalone RFID identification and traceability without requiring complex programming or separate external antennae. The RFU650 offers a rugged and affordable device with a typical sensing range of up to five metres that can distinguish accurately between transponder tags on assembly parts, goods or packages, even when they are moving in opposite directions.

An addition to SICK UK’s family of image-based code readers has been introduced as the Lector 630, which offers a compact high-resolution reader.

ACHIEVING instantly reliable proximity sensing is simple with the single-click installation of the SICK IQG sensor.  With its one-second mount and 40 x 40mm cubic construction, the IQG is an all-purpose and cost-effective inductive sensor that is easy-to-switch in countless automation, conveying and materials handling applications.

SICK UK has announced the launch of the PLd / SIL2-certified DFS60S Pro incremental encoder, enabling motion to be safely controlled in automated guided vehicles or machinery requiring frequent operator interaction. The ScanningRuler’s large field of view enables accurate 3D imaging of stationary objects, boosting the productivity of high-throughput robotics applications and making it easier for robot integrators to achieve volume picking in heavy industrial applications.

With the new OD Mini short range distance sensor, SICK has delivered one of the world’s most lightweight and precise displacement sensors incorporating an easy-to-use display and control. The SICK OD Mini achieves micron resolution and millisecond responsiveness in a rugged, compact and lightweight unit making it ideal for precision measurement and positioning applications where high levels of accuracy are demanded, especially at high speeds, for example for positioning of robotic gripper arms, or in precision machining.

SICK has extended the communications capability of its programmable Ethernet AFS60 single-turn and AFM60 multi-turn encoders with the addition of PROFINET and EtherCAT protocol compatibility.
