Ready for any image-based task

An addition to SICK UK’s family of image-based code readers has been introduced as the Lector 630, which offers a compact high-resolution reader.

With a wide-ranging adaptability for high-speed, high-volume and production duties, and comprehensive code reading duties, the SICK Lector 630 offers up to 2MP resolution reading, as well as adjustable integrated lighting. A choice of exchangeable optics for engineers to tailor the best performance to each application is also a feature.

SICK’s Lector 630 code readers are ideal for tracking, trace, sorting and identification duties in production, shipping, warehousing and distribution, says SICK UK’s Systems and Auto Ident manager, Mark Harris. “It doesn’t matter if the code is small and has to be read at a distance over a wide conveyor, or is complex and close up in the middle of a clutter of print or parts, the resolution, lighting and focus capability of the Lector 630 can be adapted to match. ”

With a compact IP67 housing, this product has an intuitive user interface, quick set-up button and Micro SD card all to simplify commissioning, maintenance and operation. The Micro SD card enables cloning and rapid substitution with minimal lone downtime when necessary.

Designed as a high-resolution reader ensures maximum performance, even when difficult, integrated lighting and aiming laser allows commissioning to be easy.

The optics of the Lector 630 provides the engineer with a wide lens choice, from small S-mount lenses to higher quality C-mount lenses. To set up the optimum viewing angle, an innovative range of ring lights are offered by the Lector 630, that are easy to mount without cabling and come equipped with a convenient filter holder to facilitate swapping the filters.

Lector 630’s optics can be covered by hoods to meet the IP 67 rating, and with SICK’s 4Dpro common communications platform it means the product is easily integrated into surrounding networks, and is compatible with other SICK auto-ident devices.
