A distribution agreement has been announced that allows company RS Components to offer the complete Intersil product range to customers worldwide. RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents (LSE:ECM), the global distributor for engineers,and Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ:ISIL), a leading provider of innovative power management and precision analogue solutions, came together to make the agreement.

NFC timing relay can be controlled from smartphone or tablet

RS Components (RS)says it is the first distributor to market with the high-quality NFC timing relay from Schneider Electric, which offers control and monitoring of a timing relay via NFC (Near Field Communication) using a smartphone or tablet. The product is ideal for maintainers, machine and panel builders and OEMs, in fact anyone that currently uses a timing relay to control simple on/off switching tasks.

Clamp meter spots hard to find faults

The new FLIR CM174 clamp meter, available at RS Components, has built-in thermal imaging to help pinpoint faults such as intermittent connections, which can have thermal effects that conventional test gear cannot see. The clamp meter features a two-inch colour TFT in the handset that shows hotspots detected using FLIR's IGM(TM) (Infrared Guided Measurement) thermal-imaging technology.
