Cornucopia of pneumatic components join distributor line up

A significant extension to its range of pneumatic components from SMC has been announced by RS Components. Targeting machine builders developing new pneumatics-based applications as well as maintenance engineers, the additions to the SMC pneumatic components range comprise more than 600 products including cylinders, actuators, valves, fittings, assemblies, filters, lubricators, regulators, hoses and air-preparation devices.

Advanced surveillance enabled by new video range

The video-surveillance portfolio at RS Components has been boosted with the new ABUS Analogue HD range, which enables customers to upgrade standard-definition systems economically using existing cables, and without introducing IP network equipment. The HD video cameras give up to four times better image quality than standard cameras, enabling advanced surveillance such as number-plate recognition and facial identification.

The new AX8 from FLIR, a cost-effective and compact thermal camera is now being shipped by distributor RS Components. It offers an automated multi-spectral temperature sensor for condition monitoring and hot spot detection. The thermal camera can be mounted in a huge number of diverse applications, including the Internet of Things.

The range of credit-card-size mini-PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) at RS components has been significantly extended by six new models and two starter kits from Barth Elektronik. Targeting machine and panel builders and opening up the possibilities for controlling new types of industrial applications, the mini-PLCs can be battery powered and allow engineers to control small applications such as stand-alone machines or mobile applications.
