Array of products meet automation challenges

Users tackling process automation challenges are being offered RS Components’ exclusive new HMI offer and the distributor is introducing updated sense, communication, motion and connectivity products.  Leveraging its long-standing partnership with Schneider Electric, RS has secured an attractive price on the Magelis HMI controller starter kit.

Ideal for controlling small machines and processes, the Magelis display and rear module with I/O and communication ports fit together easily on a panel and require only a single 22mm-diameter hole. The starter kit contains a 5.7in. Magelis SCU HMI controller with SoMachine V4.1 software, 24V power supply and USB cable.

RS has also introduced new sense and control solutions to its Turck Banner range, which includes photoelectric, ultrasonic and vision sensors, temperature sensors, encoders, barcode readers, machine-guarding and safety devices, relays and machine lighting.

The wide selection of solution essentials provides sensor reflectors, enclosures, cabinets, and rugged cordsets offering various cable lengths and connector types, which help engineers complete each build to a high standard.

Also joining the RS process automation portfolio, the latest CASM-32 ball-screw electric linear actuators by SKF of Sweden are fast and convenient like a pneumatic cylinder, but have superior power consumption and efficiency for lower factory energy costs and CO2.

The advanced BG45 24V brushless motors with built-in motion controller also ensure calm, quiet operation unmatched by typical pneumatic systems. The actuators are available with stroke of 100mm or 300mm, allow 14 motion profiles, and are capable of moving high loads at up to 500mm/s.

RS also helps customers build better machines with versatile solutions for temperature control and process heating, such as programmable PID controllers offering a variety of features and I/O channels, simple on/off controllers, high-efficiency ceramic and halogen heaters, and adapters, modules and temperature-control software.

The range also includes high-quality sensors from leading brands, and control cabinets and associated devices such as contactors and time-delay relays.

Further support for customers to complete their projects comes from the range of cables that RS has selected especially from leading suppliers to offer the latest specifications used in the automation sector.

Products from top brands include Belden multicore industrial cables and dedicated sensor and switch cables, as well as cables and assemblies from Binder, Hirschmann, Pepperl & Fuchs, Brad and others, targeted at a wide range of automation tasks.

In addition, RS-brand cables including tri-rated switch cables in a range of wire gauges and colours deliver outstanding value for panel builders.

And as RS extends its range of robust industrial power connectors including cable-mount and panel-mount options, the portfolio now spans voltage ratings from 6V to 1500V, current ratings up to 660A, and ingress protection up to IP67. A wide range of colours, orientations and pole formats ensures maximum flexibility for equipment builders to create clear, safe and maintainable wiring schemes.
