It has been announced by Honeywell that it has entered into an agreement with Mexichem to distribute Solstice N40 (R-448A) in the European Union to meet growing demand for the product, due to F-gas regulations and rising energy efficiency needs. Mexichem will sell the product under Klea 448A name.

Solution enables F-Gas and Ecodesign environmental compliance
It has been announced that Whirlpool is deploying Honeywell Solstice N13 (R-450A) refrigerant in its heat pump tumble dryer range, replacing legacy R-134a refrigerant. The switch to Solstice N13 enables Whirlpool to cut carbon emissions by approximately 60% and comply with European Union Ecodesign and F-Gas regulations while providing a more efficient product for its customers.

Partnership reducing climate impact of clothes-drying technology
It has been announced that Arçelik has selected Honeywell Solstice N13 (R-450A) refrigerant to replace legacy R-134a refrigerant in a wide range of its Heat Pump Tumble Dryers. The change enables compliance with European Union EcoDesign and F-Gas regulations while allowing Arçelik brands Beko, Grundig, Blomberg and Elektrabregenz to cut carbon emissions by approximately 60% and provide a safer, more efficient product.

Honeywell are tackling the safety side of Industry 4.0 with its personal protective equipment, as every year there are huge numbers of tragedies and cost with casualties and diseases that are not acknowledged. Taking a look at Industry 4.0 and the safety industry as a whole, there is a €476bn cost of workplace related injuries and ill health to the EU, and according to the EU-OSHA, 98% of work related deaths in the EU are caused by work related illnesses.

It has been announced that Honeywell plans to exit the sale of Genetron 404A (R-404A) and Genetron AZ-50 (R-507) refrigerants in the European Union in 2018 as contracts permit, in order to meet the deadline set by the European Union’s F-gas regulations, which stipulate the phase-out of high Global-Warming-Potential (GWP) hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) by 2020.
