Honeywell has announced a new smart hearing solution that combines cloud-based software and connected, protective headsets to monitor sound in real time and analyse patterns to help companies better protect workers from noise-induced hearing loss.

It has been announced by Honeywell that it has entered into an agreement with Mexichem to distribute Solstice N40 (R-448A) in the European Union to meet growing demand for the product, due to F-gas regulations and rising energy efficiency needs. Mexichem will sell the product under Klea 448A name.

It has been announced that Whirlpool is deploying Honeywell Solstice N13 (R-450A) refrigerant in its heat pump tumble dryer range, replacing legacy R-134a refrigerant. The switch to Solstice N13 enables Whirlpool to cut carbon emissions by approximately 60% and comply with European Union Ecodesign and F-Gas regulations while providing a more efficient product for its customers.

It has been announced that Arçelik has selected Honeywell Solstice N13 (R-450A) refrigerant to replace legacy R-134a refrigerant in a wide range of its Heat Pump Tumble Dryers. The change enables compliance with European Union EcoDesign and F-Gas regulations while allowing Arçelik brands Beko, Grundig, Blomberg and Elektrabregenz to cut carbon emissions by approximately 60% and provide a safer, more efficient product.

A nonflammable refrigerant with lower global warming potential (GWP) for use in stationary air conditioning systems has been unveiled by Honeywell with the Solstice N41 (provisional R-466A). 

With all the talk of Industry 4.0 we need to address the very important issue of safety. It has been announced that Honeywell plans to exit the sale of Genetron 404A (R-404A) and Genetron AZ-50 (R-507) refrigerants in the European Union in 2018 as contracts permit, in order to meet the deadline set by the European Union’s F-gas regulations, which stipulate the phase-out of high Global-Warming-Potential (GWP) hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) by 2020.

Honeywell introduced a new line of Industrial Fire and Gas Protection products featuring the HS81-HS Controller and compatible components.

Honeywell opened registration today for its Gamewell-FCI fire systems seminars Addressing New Codes Using New Technology. A number of highly-respected engineers are prepared to cover the most significant changes in the latest life safety codes and standards, followed by a technical overview of solutions equipped to meet new requirements from industry experts. The free, four-hour seminars will be hosted in 15 different states and attendees will receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits.

Honeywell has extended its Wing Union/Hammer Union Pressure Sensor portfolio with the addition of two new models, 435 and 437, and a protective cage option. These accurate, highly durable, configurable pressure sensors are built to measure drilling fluid pressure and flow to keep oil field equipment operating while preventing damage or equipment failures.

Wilson Tan, Regional Business Leader of Honeywell Industrial Safety Sensors APAC, delivered a keynote speech at this year’s China Occupational Safety and Health exhibition (COS+H) to stress the importance of gas sensors in ensuring worker safety.  

Occupational safety solutions for onshore and offshore wind turbine applications will be showcased by Honeywell at the WindEnergy exhibition. At Security Essen, from 23rd to 26th September in Germany, Honeywell will demonstrate the company's FAAST portfolio at Booth 211 in Hall 3. Including a preview of the high sensitivity four-inlet XT device, there will be live demonstrations of FAAST achieving false alarm immunity in industrial conditions and hands-on FAAST LT and Pipe IQ design sessions.

Passing nine extreme environmental tests (including vibration, temperature and humidity), Honeywell Life Safety has claimed that the FAAST (Fire Alarm Aspiration Sensing Technology) aspiration detection system is the first to be approved by one of Europe’s leading nuclear power plant (NPP) operators for installation in their facilities’ most demanding locations, the reactor building.

Fire-Lite Alarms by Honeywell announces an upgraded time-saving software tool designed to simplify fire alarm system installs and service while building a database of information on each installation. The PS-TOOLS program assists users in system configuration, including component selection and panel programming in addition to helping with remote diagnostics. It can be used with nearly every Fire-Lite Alarms' addressable and conventional control panel on the market today. The software and user instructions can be downloaded free-of-charge from www.firelite.com. Users can also register online to receive software update notices via email.

Silent Knight by Honeywell has expanded its U.S. tour of FREE fire alarm technology and code seminars following numerous requests from engineers, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and facility managers seeking accredited education on code requirements and fire alarm technology. The half-day seminars will qualify attendees for 4.5 CPDs (Continuing Professional Development) units.
