Fire-Lite Alarms by Honeywell announces the fire protection systems on the Miles College campus in Fairfield, Ala., have been updated by fire alarm and security integrator Protection 1 using Fire-Lite Alarms' MS-9600UDLS addressable fire alarm systems. Utilizing an existing IP network for fire alarm reporting to Protection 1's central station, the school was able to boost the reliability and response time of fire alarm communications while eliminating the cost of two phones lines per system.

Honeywell (NYSE:HON) Power Products introduces the IPGSM-COM , a UL-listed primary fire alarm communicator providing Contact ID reporting via IP (Internet Protocol) or GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) cellular pathways. Fire Fighter Fire Alarm Training

Silent Knight by Honeywell provided a two-day training designed to familiarize Rochester, N.H., fire fighters with the most current fire protection technologies and codes. In-between emergency calls, the department's two shifts of 19 men and women received an overview of the latest NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), International Building and National Electrical codes. Demonstrations of common fire alarm systems' configurations and capabilities were given utilizing the latest technologies in the Farenhyt and IntelliKnight product lines from Silent Knight. Representatives from System Sensor and Honeywell Analytics also covered new advances in CO (carbon monoxide) detection, gas detection and voice evacuation intelligibility.

Silent Knight by Honeywell introduces an IP Communicator designed to enable the transmission of fire alarm system information to a central monitoring station via any standard IP (Internet Protocol) line. By sharing a facility's existing IP line, the IP Communicator eliminates the cost of two phone lines for fire alarm communications and monitoring. In the case of one New York retail establishment, this resulted in a savings of nearly $800 a year.
