Dolomite has launched the Single Cell RNA-Seq Chip for simple, reliable creation of single cell libraries. This new chip allows researchers to use droplet-based microfluidic methods to help explore the behaviour of thousands of individual cells, providing a rapid and easy way to screen for new or cryptic cell types.

A Dolomite droplet generation system is helping researchers atWeill Cornell Medical College in New York, USA, to encapsulate human and mouse B cells for the cloning of antibody genes. Associate Professor Moonsoo Jin from the Department of Radiology explained: “Some of our immunology research is focused on cloning antibody genes. In this work, it is important to ensure that individual genes are isolated from each other, and that is why we have adopted the droplet technology. It enables us to encapsulate a single human or mouse B cell, guaranteeing that antibody genes from one cell are not mixed with those from another cell.”

Dolomite has created a low cost kit aimed at educational initiatives or those new to microfluidics. The Educational Microfluidic Starter Kit offers connect-and-go microfluidic capabilities, allowing easy set-up without the need for specialist tools or a gas supply. 

Dolomite are challenging entrepreneurial researchers, scientists and engineers to enter the Productizing Science Competition 2015, proposing novel, microfluidics-based concepts with commercial potential.

Dolomite Microfluidics has developed an innovative range of Micro Droplet Systems for automatic, seamless production of monodispersed droplets. Built around Dolomite’s pulseless pressure pumps, connectors and chips, Micro Droplet Systems benefit a wide range of applications, including compartmentalized chemistry, high throughput experiments, polymeric microspheres and the production of emulsions. The Meros TCU-100 will be debuted by Dolomite at the 2014 Lab-on-a-Chip & Microarray World Congress in San Diego, USA, from the 18th to the 19th September. The TCU-100, the first module in the Meros range of plug-and-play microfluidic products, offers advanced temperature control from 1 to 100°C for microfluidic chips, microscope slides and other third party devices. 

Dolomite has signed an agreement with Fluika to exclusively distribute a range of low-pressure and low-vacuum generator pumps. Targeting OEMs, the Mitos Fluika pressure and vacuum generator pumps are compact, lightweight and allow for easy integration into experimental set-ups.

Dolomite has launched a new range of self-priming Stainless Steel Piezoelectric Pumps providing a flexible solution for handling of small volumes of fluid within microfluidic systems. Available with and without tube barbs the low power miniature pumps (~7.5mW) benefit a wide range of industries and applications including consumer electronics, medical instruments, fuel cells and microfluidic experimentations.
