Pumps offer easy integration into experimental OEM set-ups

Dolomite has signed an agreement with Fluika to exclusively distribute a range of low-pressure and low-vacuum generator pumps. Targeting OEMs, the Mitos Fluika pressure and vacuum generator pumps are compact, lightweight and allow for easy integration into experimental set-ups.

The pumps require no extra supplies or cables, benefiting from full USB control and power. This provides for a low-cost pressure and vacuum generation solution suited to microfluidic pressure-driven flow control, perfusion systems and flow cells and miniature robotics and actuators.

Designed to provide pressurized air or vacuum with fast and accurate pressure control, the pumps are extremely easy to set up and use, requiring no gas supply or external vacuum pumps. The Mitos Fluika low pressure pump is suited for pressures above atmospheric pressure and the Mitos Fluika low vacuum generator pump for pressures below atmospheric pressure. Both pumps are capable of controlling pressures in volumes of 1-100ml and have a pressure accuracy of 5mbar, with better flow stability compared to peristaltic and syringe microfluidic pumps.

Measuring 10 x 6 x 3cm, the pumps are easy to interface with pneumatic quick-fit connectors. There is also a Mitos Fluika control valve device for multiplexing four output channels between two input channels, making it suited for applications that require fast switching between two pressure or vacuum levels.

Mr Tanel Ainla, CEO of Fluika said of the exclusive agreement:  "I am very happy to co-operate with Dolomite in bringing our affordable pressure control solutions to a wider microfluidics community”.
